LCCC Fitness Fest to be held
Lehigh Carbon Community College and its Foundation will host Fall Fitness Fest on Oct. 19, at the main campus in Schnecksville.
This year’s events are focused on raising money for student scholarships and LCCC’s Cougar Cabinet food pantry, which was created to address food insecurity among LCCC’s students.
Monetary or food donations for the pantry are appreciated anytime and on the day of the event.
LCCC has also partnered with Lehigh Valley Cancer Institute and Miller Keystone Blood Mobile to provide information and an opportunity for a mammography screening or to give blood on campus.
For more information, visit LVHN.org/MammoCoach or call 610-402-LVHN to schedule your mammogram appointment; and www.giveapint.org for Miller Keystone Blood Center; no appointment needed.
The Fall Fitness Fest is designed to motivate friends, family, students and the community to get back in the fitness groove and decrease stress levels. Participants can register for a 5K run/walk; two-hour Zumba class with instructors Caressa James, Tessie and Pedro and Jonathan and Lexi; yoga and meditation class with Alissa Xander; or Qigong class with Kiki Peppard. There is a fee for the classes.
The 5K run/walk will follow a course around LCCC’s main campus and along Orchard Road. Registration is at 7:30 a.m., with a warmup at 8:30 a.m. and the run/walk start at 9 a.m.
Zumba will be at Berrier Hall, also at main campus. Registration is at 10 a.m., and Zumba starts at 11.
Yoga and Qigong will also take place in Berrier Hall. Participants can select to attend one of these adult-only classes. Registration will be at noon and both classes begin at 1 p.m. Yoga takes place in the Dance Studio and Qigong in the Auxiliary Gym.
